Trains
Birchwood Tourist Park is 2 miles drive along the Bere Road to Wareham Train Station, which is on the South Western Train line from London Waterloo to Weymouth.

A new Train project has been underway to link the Swanage Railway line and Wareham mainline station. Project Wareham Trial Train Service has was delayed until 2023 but hopes to reinstate the Swanage to Wareham 'Purbeck Line' which was closed in 1972.
Swanage Railway is a heritage railway attraction operating full-size steam and diesel passenger trains along the five and a half miles of line from Norden to Corfe Castle and down to the seaside town of Swanage. The line has stations at Corfe Castle and Harman's Cross as well as a halt at Herston, on the outskirts of Swanage.

NEW for summer 2024:
Joint ticket (Jurassic Adventurer) with City Cruises and Swanage Railway where customers can have unlimited travel on all three with an advance purchase form City Cruises website.
Bus from Norden then train to Swanage and enjoy a cruise to Poole and either bus or ferry back to Swanage and back to Norden.

The Purbeck Breezer 40 route links Wareham with the coastal towns of Swanage and Poole, and stops at Corfe Castle and Wareham town and train station.
​
The route links up to the ‘Open Top’ Breezer 50 route bus which travels from Swanage, through Studland across the Sandbanks ferry and onto Bournemouth.

Other local bus services include:
Jurassic Coaster bus running a special summer service the X52 stopping at Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum and through to Abbotsbury and West Bay.
Or the Jurassic Coaster X54 from Wareham linking Poole and Weymouth.
